Winter Recreation
An annual snowfall of more that 20 feet with temperatures in the mid 20's makes Copper Harbor a winter sports paradise - all far from the crowds. Snowmobiling and cross country ski trails depart directly from resort grounds. Snuggling up in front of a roaring fire and taking a refreshing sauna completes your fun filled day of outdoor activities. Be sure to check out our winter specials.
Snowmobiling
The Keweenaw Peninsula gets over 250 inches average snowfall each season and has over 200 miles of groomed trails throughout the northwoods. Snow usually lasts through March and Copper Harbor hosts the annual Keweenaw Ride In. Lake Fanny Hooe Resort and Campground is directly on Trail #3 and conveniently located by restaurants, bars, and gas stations. Click here to view a snowmobile trail map.
Cross Country Skiing & Snow Shoeing
Groomed trails start within 100 yards of our facilities. Trails range from easy to expert and wind through the forest into a winter wonderland. Click here to view a cross-country ski trail map.
Ice Fishing
Lake Fanny Hooe is the best kept secret fishing spot in the U.P.! With its abundance of perch, walleye, trout, bass, and splake it won't be a secret for long that the big ones are here!
